Paul retired from teaching at Hartselle High School in 1991 after twenty-five years in public education. During that time, he coached numerous sports, taught history, driver’s education and coordinated a co-op program.
He also represented Morgan County in the Alabama Legislature for sixteen years. He was chairman of the House Education Committee for eight years and received the coveted “Friend of Education” award in 1998. Paul was also selected by the state library association as their “Friend of Libraries” honoree.
Paul currently works part-time for the Alabama Education Retirees Association.
